SECTION LEADERS

REHEARSALS

Rehearsals are held every Monday evening at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University Boulevard, from 7:00 - 9:15 p.m. Announcements are made following rehearsals. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early in order to be ready to sing at 7:00. Bring a pencil to each rehearsal as markings will be given by the director and you will want to mark your music accordingly! If you plan to must miss a rehearsal, check with your Section Leader for any markings that were given when you were absent. There will be one extra Saturday rehearsal prior to each concert, TBA.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is available to all Tucson area residents who enjoy singing the great Masterworks of choral literature. Prior choral experience and the ability to read music is helpful but not absolutely necessary. Membership dues are $75.00 per year or $40.00 per half year. If you wish to make payment arrangements, or have other concerns about dues, please see Karen Young.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance is expected at each rehearsal. If you know you will miss a rehearsal, call your Section Leader and notify them in advance of rehearsal. Your absence will be marked as excused and your Section Leader will provide you with the markings prior to the next rehearsal. If you miss more than three rehearsals prior to a concert, Tony will meet with you to discuss your ability to perform. He may determine that you are not sufficiently prepared. Attendance at all dress rehearsals is mandatory. If extraordinary circumstances require you to miss a dress rehearsal, you must clear the absence with Tony.

HOME PRACTICE

It is expected that you will spend some time each week, between rehearsals, learning your notes. Our choral rehearsals are intended to work on balance, phrasing, and all aspects of musicality. They are not intended to be note-pounding sessions. Practice Cd's will be provided when available.

CONCERT DRESS

Men: White long sleeve dress shirt, black bow tie, black dress slacks, black suit coat or jacket, black socks and shoes. A black tuxedo is preferred; no tails! NOTE: Navy blue, charcoal grey, or dark brown are not acceptable.
Women: Long black pants or black skirt and black top with at least 3/4 sleeve or a long dress. No turtlenecks or short sleeves.

CONCERT TICKETS

Tickets will soon be available for sale. They are a MAJOR SOURCE of revenue for the Chorale. Your assistance in selling tickets to your family, friends and co-workers is very much appreciated.

CONCERT PROGRAMS

Advertising in our concert programs is major source of revenue for the Chorale. Many businesses that you patronize would be happy to advertise in our program. Please ask! Sign up sheets for program ads will be available, in addition to the Program Ad Guides .

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Your Board works hard throughout the summer and during the year to plan fund raising and outreach events to balance the Chorale’s budget, provide you with a pleasurable experience and support Tony in concert planning. Officers are elected each May at our Annual Meeting. Volunteers are also needed for various events throughout the year, so don’t be shy! Volunteer! You’ll love getting to know the other members and you will help build a stronger chorale!
